Admin/Finance Support Officer

  

The Fiji Law Society invites applications from suitably experienced and competent individuals for the position of Admin/Finance Support Officer.


This role supports the financial integrity and administrative operations of the Society and works under the supervision of the Head of Secretariat, in coordination with the FLS Council Treasurer.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Processing payments, payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Managing member subscriptions, invoices, receipts, and petty cash
  • Preparing financial reports, bank      reconciliations, and VAT files
  • Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations (FRCS, PAYE, FNPF, VAT)
  • Using financial systems including Xero, SmoothPay, CiviRM, and Excel
  • Providing general administrative and office support, including event and facility coordination


Requirements:


  • Demonstrated proficiency in book-keeping and financial administration
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant finance experience
  • Experience in law firms, NGOs, or regulatory institutions will be an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under supervision

Contract:
 

This is a one (1) year fixed-term contract, renewable subject to performance.


Remuneration: 

A generous salary package will be negotiated, dependent on experience.

Head of Secretariat

The Fiji Law Society invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Head of Secretariat.


The Head of Secretariat is the senior administrative and operational officer of the Society and provides high-level governance, administrative, financial, and logistical support to the President, Vice President, and Council.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing secretariat and governance support to the Council and Committees
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat and supervising staff
  • Overseeing administrative and financial      processes
  • Coordinating major events, including the Annual Convention and CLE programs
  • Managing correspondence, member engagement, and stakeholder liaison
  • Supporting policy, advocacy, and statutory compliance functions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant      experience in a secretariat, governance, or administrative leadership role
  • Strong organisational, communication, and financial management skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity

Contract Term:

This is a one (1) year fixed-term contract, renewable subject to performance.
