Wati was re-elected Vice President of the Fiji Law Society in 2023, a position she has held since 2019.
She is currently the Manager of Financial Inclusion and Market Conduct at the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
Wati graduated with an LLB from the University of the South Pacific (USP) in 1997 and was admitted to the High Court of Fiji in September 1998. She also holds an MBA from USP.
She commenced her law career working for the UK DFID Regional Rights Resource Team (RRRT) as a legal trainer working in the South Pacific on international human rights laws and conventions, assisting governments in ratifying UN conventions, and training community and government participants in human rights law and implementation strategies.
In 2003, she left RRT and established the law firm, Law Solutions, and focused her career on private practice, mainly in the family law and human rights law areas.
In 2006, she joined the Capital Markets Development Authority (CMDA) as the Manager of Licensing, Regulations, and Litigation until 2009, when the CMDA was de-established and moved to the Reserve Bank under the Financial System Development Group.
Wati had held a number of management positions at the Reserve Bank of Fiji as Manager Legal, Manager Compliance, and in her current role.
Wati is also the country leader for the Global Leadership Summit Fiji and an accredited mediator with the Fiji Mediation Centre.
